Alaska’s coastline stretches over 34,000 miles and is longer than the coastline of the rest of the United States combined. In these rich natural waters, wild salmon swim freely, feeding on marine organisms and playing an important role in the ocean ecosystem. Born and raised in the wild, Alaska salmon grow and mature exactly as nature intended.
Farmed salmon, by contrast, are raised in industrial pens and fed processed pellets instead of a natural diet. Because farmed salmon flesh is naturally gray, their feed is often supplemented with synthetic coloring to imitate the red color of wild fish, and crowded conditions can require antibiotics to control disease.
Why Wild Matters
Our family fishes the remote waters of Kodiak, Alaska, bringing wild-caught salmon from our nets directly to your table with care, tradition, and respect for the ocean and its ecosystems.

Purity and Natural Diet
Nutritional Prowess
Wild Alaska salmon is a nutritional powerhouse and one of the richest natural sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for heart and brain health. Because wild salmon eat a natural marine diet and spend their lives swimming freely, they consistently contain higher levels of beneficial omega-3s than farmed salmon.
Farmed salmon typically contains more overall fat, but that fat is usually lower in omega-3s and higher in omega-6 fatty acids. Their processed feed and rapid growth can also lead to higher accumulation of persistent pollutants such as PCBs, which build up in fatty tissue and have been linked to health concerns including metabolic disorders and other long-term risks.

Supporting Local Economies
The entities behind farmed salmon are large, opaque, industrial, and increasingly under commercial control. Industrial fish farms are entities that harm public health, the environment, and local communities and economies that rely on the ocean and its resources.
By choosing wild Alaskan salmon, you're also contributing to local economies and a family run, small business. The fishing industry is a crucial part of our economy, providing jobs and supporting communities throughout the state of Alaska and beyond. Your choices can help sustain this vital industry and the livelihoods of those who depend on it.
